Superannuation Early Access GP Letters

There are limited circumstances where you can access your super early on compassionate grounds to meet medical expenses.

The law states it must be necessary to treat a life-threatening illness or injury, alleviate acute or chronic pain, or alleviate acute or chronic mental illness. The medical treatment also needs to be one that is not readily available through the Public Health system.

We can assist you in accessing your Superannuation for a range of medical treatments, including:

• Dental treatment
• IVF treatment
• Bariatric surgery
• Reconstructive surgery
• Mental Health treatment

We partner with Superannuation Access Providers, and together we can assist you in this process.

1. The first step is contacting one of our Partners to begin the process. They will assist you along the way with obtaining the supporting documentation that you require to access your super.
2. When they determine that you are ready for your GP superannuation access assessment, you will book in to speak with one of our Online GPs.
3. Alternatively, if you are seeking to access your superannuation yourself, Private Medical can still assist you with a medical assessment report for early release of super on compassionate grounds.

*These can be considered via Telehealth if sufficient clinical history and relevant investigations have been provided prior to this consultation, and you may require multiple consultations to complete your assessment.

• Life insurance medicals (basic)
• Pre-employment health declarations (limited)
• Legal letters (e.g., court-related health assessments)

*In some cases, a physical exam is mandated. Please check your documentation and contact us prior to scheduling your appointment.

• Special consideration applications
